Oh, my gosh. What an awful thing to have happen to your much cherished and loved Lindsay. I really hope that everything works out well in the end and that Lindsay is safely back home and in your arms soon! [img]graemlins/broken_heart.gif[/img]
Thanks again everyone.
Hubby was on the phone for about an hour after work.He talked to a very nice lady at AG that actually went and manually looked for my Lindsey.
She did not find her, but she was able to tell me for sure that Lindsey IS NOT there- anywhere.I was glad she really looked instead of just checking the computer.I was SO hoping she would find her. She was really nice and very helpful.
Hubby also called UPS back.. the lady there is not very nice....
We also found a number for the UPS in Middleton, and called them directly. They guy was no help what-so-ever, but he did say he would get around to looking for it.He said they had a "whole truckload of them American Girl packages"... Hopefully, Lindsey is in there somewhere. He did not offer any possible explaination as to why she had been marked as "Out for Delivery" yet never delivered.
My only hope is that she is in that UPS building somewhere, or on a truck. He said he would get people looking once the trace info came in, but it can take days to "do all the paperwork".
So, yeah. She is still lost. The Lady at AG said to call back in a few days.... A few days.

I'm so sorry to hear your story - this must be so frustrating. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she turns up. In the meantime, I think it's highly likely she'll be found. She probably got lost in the shuffle of the UPS system. Perhaps someone mis-scanned her or mis-sorted her somehow. If so, she might just turn up in a few days. Keep your hopes up! I don't think she's lost forever.
I'm sure she will be found! The location is so pinpointed, I'd be surprised if they don't locate her soon. The UPS here can be a bit crazy. There are several mail order catalogue places in the area so I'd imagine the UPS traffic is high.
What did AG say regarding replacement if they don't locate her?
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the safe return of Lindsey too.

Sooooooo, did my story make you feel better??? Did anyone else think it was funny?? I think it is! lol
American Mommy, I also hoping your Lindsey will turn up, sooner than later, and be back to you before you know it!
Just keep the faith that she will be found. She's there somewhere, keep being on top of them about this. Once you stop calling, they'll forget about it.
In the event she isn't found, what is AG planning to do? Good Luck!

I would be very embarassed if I had a friend that handled herself in a manner such as that.

This isn't going to SOUND consoling, but I mean it to be. UPS simply does not tell the truth on their website. Their "delivery status" is an estimate, it is not linked to their scan-in scan-out system. I learned this the hard way, when I package I was supposed to receive was marked "delievered" and I didn't have it. I called UPS and they told me it was still in their distribution center 40 miles from my house. I was SHOCKED. As soon as the words "bait and switch" flew out of my mouth (I was suprisingly calm, I think I was just so surprised) I was transferred to a supervisor, who told me she would personally make sure it got on the truck, which was of course not true, but it was reassuring nonetheless that someone would take responsibility for it. So, my thoughts are that UPS knows exactly where it went missing, you just have to put a little pressure on them. You need to call UPS, and ask them to go through THEIR system, not the online system, and tell you the last place it was physically scanned. I can almost guarantee it's laying on the floor somewhere close to the last place it was scanned. The UPS system is designed not to lose packages, so don't worry, Lindsey's not lost, UPS just needs you to light a little flame underneath them, and they'll hop to. Don't worry, you'll get her back.
Thank you all for your support and words of encouragment and stories. You have all been such a help to me.
GUESS WHAT????

Lindsey has been FOUND- Fixed up , and is about to be on her way HOME!!!!
This morning there was a message on my cellphone from an angel named Lorie... She said they had found my "very special package"!
I was so happy I cried when I heard the message. I had to call Miss Lorie back and thank her.She was very nice, and she sounded really happy too.
It mattered a lot to me that she referred to my Lindsey package as "a very special package". I do not think everyone understands how dolls can be special.Uniquely special.
So, UPS missed the scan. Then, AG did not have her processed yet. Wow. I have been worried to death.I know she is in good hands now.
If I ever mail another doll in (NOT Lindsey, lol) I may use priority mail instead... lol.
Thank you all so much!
